My aspiration is to be one of the builders of a world of equality, a world where diversity is respected and value for people's lives is paramount. A world where religion and culture are not used as weapons of dispute and destruction, where leaders serve and not steal, where everyone does not pretend to love each other but does so straight from the heart.

Uzoma Okere Case Adjourned
This is an update on Uzoma Okere's case; Due to well, some court uncontrollable circumstances, Uzoma case has being adjourned till the 18th of February 2009. This justice will surely not be denied!
i comment earlier...i thot u had on this approval thing....my comment is ...naija!...lets hope they wont use style and sweep evrythn under the carpet cos "we" have come too far.
I believe justice will notbe denied as well but then when you begin to hear of postponements, adjournments and the likes, one begins to have doubts. . . She sure deserves justice. This is like a big test for the Nigerian judicial system, especially as the whole world watches . . . Yes indeed (I got the initial story on facebook and facebook means the whole world these days).
what has been done on the case so far?...i heard recently that the man has been moved to some other position, i dont know if it was a promotion or demotion, i earnesty doubt the latter sha...please keep us posted
Did owls find their way into the courtroom? I hear that happened last week during a hearing and the judge and others ran off thinking that they were sent by their enemies.
LusciousRon, I think we can expect a lot of adjournments. The Nigerian legal system crawls. Its like expecting that they will stop in the Sente or even stop throwing chairs at each other. Not happening!
I love the title (I didn't read all the rest, honnestly) The pope should frame that quote and hang it over his desk ! instead of preaching not to use condoms !
I dunnoo... doesnt SOUND like good news. Was the hearing ever held?
ReplyDeleteokay oh, we will wait.
ReplyDeleteOyenka: no it was not heard but it was cuz of administrative lapses on the part of the bailliff. I believe we have nothing to fear
ReplyDeletePoeticallytinted: sure
I am also waiting o!
ReplyDeleteLet us see that Nigeria has started to respect the law.
I kind of have a feeling they will keep on stalling and there would be plenty of feet dragging.......but God will help us move forward in Nigeria!
hmm..that's a bit disappointing..but I'm praying for the best outcome.
ReplyDeletestandtall, whr is my comment?

ReplyDeleteWell, dont let us be skeptical yet. I want to believe that justice will be done. Our judicial system has really improved somewhat
