UZOMA OKERE GOES TO COURT TOMORROW

Tomorrow, the 3rd of February, 2009 is the hearing of UZOMA OKERE Vs. Arogundade suit. Uzoma was the damsel that was the victim of Admiral Arogundade and his naval escorts assault on the 3rd of November, 2008 on Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

UZoma was assaulted on the said day as the lawbreakers felt she did not leave the road for them to pass after blowing thier offended siren. They took laws into thier hands and beat her up. It was an appalling incident...

The case went to court and tomorrow is the hearing. I am beginning to believe in our judicial system in Nigeria. I have faith that justice will be done on Uzoma's case. We raised a lot of awareness on this case, we should try and follow it through

  5. thanks for the update. i do hope that she does get the justice she deserves.....but as many mentioned before....one can't help but wonder whether she is getting justice because of the socioeconomic position of her family.....i really do hope that in this case the effects trickle down.

  11. Standy LOVEY,
hmmmmm. My people have a proverb (gosh I have always wanted to use that phrase), that if you push and push and push a goat onto a wall enough, it will turn around and head butt you. So you see, we have been pushed too far unto the wall and here is the justice. The idea that this is being taken to court at all is justice and triumph in and of itself. And I must say I want to come home.
    Temite steps out.

  17. I heard over the radio that the Navy officer had been redeployed. That was it! one word "redeployed" kept wondering what that really meant. Didn't realise the case got to court. Nice one, hope she gets justice.

  18. I wonder why they only "redeploy" the admiral instead of demotion, suspension or compulsory retirement or sack!

Wish I could be in court today but I am letting you know the court outcome as soon as I know about it
