Cats On Tuesday: I can't tell what is wrong with Scofield

In almost a year, 11 Months to be exact, I have seen my cats only 3 times. I am far away from home on my fellowship which I will round up next Month. My cats, have being in loving care of my beloved partner and friend back in Nigeria. In April, Socfield developed skin problems and he was losing hair. We observed him for at least three months since we could not get hold of a vet. It got a little worse in July and we succeeded in locating his vet in August when I happened to be in Nigeria!



I got the vet to treat him this August when I visited home, he did not carry out any test but gave him treatment. He could not tell what was wrong. Hubby got another vet last week who happened to specialise on dogs and only could give some oitment for Socfield body. Well, between that time and now, Scofield is still losing hair more, red spots are appearing more on his body and just yesterday he hurt himself and was bleeding. He had refused to eat.


I had to call the vet (the one that has being treating him since he was young) again who will be seeing him today. I seem not to have much faith on the vet at the moment. I went online again and I disvcovered two conditions that can be responsible for his ailments. One is Allergic and Irritant Contact Dermatitis in Cats and the other is Allergic and Atopic in Cats.


I need to know if anyone has had to deal with this in thier cats and if they can help with more suggestion on how to treat this in case the vet is not so helpful? I have informed my partner to wash him with shampoo once a week, to stop him from going out, to remove our carpet but I need to know what else to be done...

Cats On Tuesday: Molly Has Disappeared Again!

How does one deal with a feminist cat that does nothing but disappear all the time? Molly is getting on my nerves right now. Her siblings and son will be out playing and entering the house when they are tired or startled but not Molly!

I once thought she disappeared the first time because she didn't get along with Standtall Husband. But they are now best of friends and she is neutered. She disappeared 3 days ago right in my presence! Well, I found her the first night but she would not let me near her. She ran away! Scofield tried to be a good brother by running after her. Smallville tried to be a good son to no avail. I am really not happy with Molly's attitude. I really am not!

Today is a new day in our home

Cats on Tuesdays: The Neutered/Spayed Feminist Cats

Finally, Governor Garfield, Senator Molly and Councillor Smallville got spayed and neutered respectively. For Kitten Smaville, he didn't find it a big deal. He bounced back immediately ( his was but a simple procedure). Good for him as he had already started mating with Garfield before he was even 5 months! He became 5 months on Dec. 31st. He is too big for his age hence his misbehaviour (lol). He was in the picture below sleeping on moi peacefully



Molly threw up a lot when she got spayed. She defeacted as well. Her system really reacted badly. She started eating a day after. I was to take her back to the vet last week Friday for her stitch to be removed. Lo and behold, vet was still in new year mood. He wasn't there. So, I removed everything myself. Yeah, doctor StandTall did. Molly is fine. Her urge to run out of the house is reducing after 2 failed attempt that led me to the roof to pick her again. StandTall Husband is trying to be friendly with her, I pray it works. They need to stop this " I don't like you either" attitude of thiers. Both of them. Below is Molly's Stitched Tummy!



My Garfield, she got spayed and slept for 24 hours! I was worried. I woke her up several times during the night but no way. She didn't budge. The vet had to give her more sleeping dose because she had a little benign tumor by the side of her uterus that has to be taking care of. Poor baby, she did not eat for 2 days! Yay. That's Garfield tummy below!



Now they are all bouncing back for good. My happy happy feminist cats. And yeah, President Scofield says hi
