I am glad that what I have being waiting for materialised. I have being waiting to celebrate Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker director believing she would cling the "Best Director" award at the 82nd OSCAR event having seeing The Hurt Locker and Avatar respectively. Kathryn Bigelow became the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Director in the Academy Awards’ 58-year history, this to me mean women as directors have come a long way! Even if it took 82nd OSCAR event to make the recongition outstanding, we know and believe that women through their relentless efforts and dedication to work of excellence are breaking barriers. The Hurt Locker triumphed over the 3D blockbuster Avatar, a more expensive film compared to her low budget film, directed by Bigelow's former husband, James Cameron. 
This for me is a case of "it is not how long, but how well". I say a big congratulations to Kathryn Bigelow on her award as the THE BEST DIRECTOR in this year Academic Award. This means a lot to the social, economic and political achievement of women. And it could not have happened better than this ocassion of the INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY. Hurt Locker won six awards at BAFTA and another six at OSCAR! I am proud of this achievement and to this, I say happy International Women's Day to all women and girls of the world... We will continue to make our marks.
