Dear all, I am back from Brussels for a visit to the European Union, plenty gist of which I will soon share with you all. In the meantime, I would love to call for support for our very own Temitayo as her essay was shortlisted by the prestigous women's organisation; Women's Learning Partnership {WLP}. The essay was organised to mark the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Elimination of All Froms of Discriminations Against Women { CEDAW Instrument}.
Her essay ; Fear — The Enemy of Gender Equality was one of 12 out of over a hundred essays submitted from 33 countries that made it to the final stage. She needs our support to read hear essay and leave comments on it as this will create more awareness on the issues she discussed and increased her chance of winning. The Winners will be announced at a WLP symposium at the 54th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York City on March 5, 2010, 2020 Vision: Mobilizing for Women’s Rights and Eliminating Violence against Women. Temitayo raised some very key points in that essay. It's not the opportunities that are open to women that will break the yoke of inquality, but it's the courage.
