Now that we are here...

I don't know how I am fast becoming an occasional blogger. It is not me and it will not happen. The first resolution for this year is to try all I can to go back to "Interview Thursday" series. I have got a lot of fatanstic people to interview and I am the only one that is stopping this from happening. Reschedule girl.

I will try not to rush things though as I need to still rest and get rid of this prolong cold I am battling with once and for all. I also need to gather my thinking and reprocess some stuff out of which Umar Mutallab is one of. I argued last month just 2 weeks before the unfortunate incident of Umar Mutallab that Nigerians might be many things but as an African, we will never partake in suicide bombing. Umar Mutallab proved me wrong!

Now it's not about what we can do or can't, it's now about how can we change situations, how can we tiredlessly strive in 2010 to redeem the image of Nigeria, to change things back at home and to have a glorified African continent. I am still thinking and in my thinking, I still meet a stumbling block of impossibility but no, I will not let that thought destroy the effort needed to be made in transforming our lands...

Despite the cold or flu, I still had a wonderful xmas dinner in the house of one of the fellows on the peace and security programme after which I took a trip to Peterborough to see a friend and her family. I was there for a week and had a great time. Meeting and having time with their 3 Months old baby was nice. The fun most not end as I am back to my desk to start my busy but productive 2010...

Above here are pictures of the xmas dinner and that of my friend handsome baby. And congratulations to our own FFF on the arrival of her cutie baby.

Happy new year to you all, I believe we shall conquer all negativities in our lives and our continent.

That baby looks so cute...

I had to get that out first, LOL. As for Umar and his ilk, I don tire for that talk. But you made some new issue about how we can come out of that doldrum. I look forward to a better Nigeria and Africa too.

Happy New Year. That baby's smile is infectious.

I think Umar's action will strengthen and not divide us as a country. It will bring about a united front to tackle so many issues bugging the country. Rememba the saying 'there is a blessing in disguise in every disappointment'.

considering the amount of time that Farouk did not spend in Nigeria & the lifestyle he had, he should be described simply as someone originally of Nigerian descent, & does not exactly portray who or what a Nigerian is...that boy is an utter shame to this his father, his religion & his country

Happy new year. With all the issues hanging over our heads as a nation, i'm still very positive we'd have a great 2010 . . . and realizing this largely rests with you and me. . . Hope the cold's gone. Kpele

Feel better soon, if you haven't already gotten over your cold. And well wishes to you in 2010 as well.

Well, i guess the Mutallab issue has been overrated.

What country is Osama Bin Laden from?
Does his country get so much publicity just because of Osama?
What i mean is, Mutallab is a young educated man so, this issue should be treated (& individualised) with respect to him.

Never mind the US (negative) publicity stunt, how else will you hang a (willing) 'dog' to give it a bad name?

What we should concentrate on is rising up in our INDIVIDUAL capacity to continually and consistently do our little (right) things. Things that will enhance our personal self-image which by implication will cause a ripple effect projecting the country as a dignified nation.

What we need not do is sit and form committees et al to look into the Mutallab (security-breach) issue, as if understanding his mind-process or the security lapse will automatically project Nigeria in a better light.

Ultimately, it all boils down to 'us' on an individual basis. We collectively need to make the central government understand that if they do not do their in good governance, then, we will (by, purposeful individual efforts all aimed in the same direction) make them become irrelevant.
